Remember Me Rose Garden Party — Fundraiser
If you’re passing anywhere by the Three Rivers, Stephen will be hosting the Remember Me Rose Garden’s 2023 Garden Party and Fundraiser on Sat afternoon. Join friends of RMRG for finger foods, soft drinks, beer & wine, plus a special live performance by Pittsburgh jazz icon Kenny Blake. Tickets are only $25 at the link here.
Elizabeth Park Rose Garden Tours
Beauty abounds at Elizabeth Park Conservancy when the roses reach their peak bloom in early June! As rosarian and rose garden curator, Stephen leads tours at 11 AM and again at 1 PM in both the Helen S Kaman Rose Garden and the Heritage Rose Garden. No registration required.
Riverside Garden Club Lecture
Riverside Garden Club opens their door to members and rose enthusiasts for a very special edition of Stephen’s Rose Garden Chronicles focused on the Nutmeg State. Adding to scenes and stories from his private gardening clients, Stephen recounts how a spectacular revitalization was brought to the Helen S Kamen Rose Garden, the country’s oldest public rose garden located at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Rose care MasterClass with Stephen Scanniello shows how we Spring ahead at Remember Me Rose Garden living memorial to the heroes who perished aboard United Flight 93 on 9/11. Breakfast presentation at Camp Allegheny precedes hands-on experience pruning hundreds of roses alongside horticulture students from Florida Southern College under Dr. Malcolm Manners.
Pruning Heritage Roses at the American Rose Center
Grab your good pruning shears and head on down to Shreveport, Louisiana this Saturday. Come prepared to get your knees dirty alongside Stephen and friends of the Heritage Rose Foundation as we take up our first big pruning session of the season for the recently restored heritage rose collection at ARS headquarters.

Pruning Day at Florida Southern College
Rose novices and experienced rosarians alike are invited to join Stephen alongside Dr. Malcolm Manners, FSC students and friends in giving Ruth’s Rose Garden it’s annual Spring pruning.

Webinar: Heritage Roses in America’s Rose Garden
In partnership with the American Rose Society, the Heritage Rose Foundation designed and curated the 4th Circle of the Great Garden Restoration at the American Rose Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, featuring roses that pre-date the 20th century.
HRF president Stephen Scanniello will speak on the importance of preserving America’s rose heritage and how roses were selected for the garden. Trustee Connie Hilker will describe the classes of heritage roses, highlighting several of the featured roses. Trustee Peggy Martin will talk about training long-caned Bourbon and other heritage roses to their best advantage. The webinar will also include a Question and Answer session to be followed by an open-to-all HRF membership meeting.
